One More Chance

One More Chance is a movie directed by Catherine Garcia-Molina starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. For me, these John Lloyd and Bea is the best loveteam in town. Both of them are great actors and One More Chance won’t be as effective as it is now, without these two.

I saw the movie and I must say this is one of the best pinoy movies I have seen. It has depth and the way the story is driven is just fantastic. The movie made me cry for crying out loud!

Kudos to Cathy and to her cast! The movie is superb. Everybody should watch it.

Sinking of Japan

I watched Sinking of Japan yesterday despite my own protests. I would have wanted to watch The Brave One because I love Jodie Foster but he insisted that we should watch Sinking of Japan because it sounds interesting. Yeah, watching a country disappear from the map is more interesting than watching a woman take revenge of her boyfriend’s death. Yeah, I get the point.

So off we went to the cinema house and hoped for the best. Fortunately, the movie was really interesting. This is one of those moments when I was actually glad I was wrong. The plot is great and the scientific evidence presented is cool. No wonder this became the number movie in Japan for a while, as what the poster indicated.

I just didn’t like the love affair of the two main characters. There were several cheesy moments with them, and I totally didn’t buy it.

All in all, I give the movie a 4/5.

Rogue Assassin

I watched Rogue Assassin with my friends, expecting that this will be a great movie. I know that Jet Li and Jason Statham are both good action stars so bringing them together in one movie would prove to be an explosive treat.

However, to my dismay, the movie wasn’t that great at all. I noticed that when Jet Li was fighting against other enemies, he was so great. And when Jason Statham was having his own fight, he was so good. But then when the two met for the final battle, the execution was so poor. They can’t even deliver a good and convincing kick. What a pity!

I know that the plot is not what I watch the movie for. It’s the action, the kicks, the choreography or whatever you call it. But I was disappointed. The movie sucks! So bad!

Your Movie Buff Quotient: 30%

You’re a very typical movie goer. You like movies, but you are by no means a movie buff.
You’ve seen many of the biggest blockbusters, but you haven’t really started digging in to the classics.

Rise

Rise is a story of a girl (Lucy Liu) who became a vampire after she was raped (and sucked) by well, obviously a male vampire. She somehow survived the fatal attack and vowed to take revenge on those who inflicted her with such thirst for blood.

She made it in the end and killed the one whom she hated the most. It was not the best plot for a film but since Lucy is there so I thought it would be okay. But then again, I was disappointed. The story flows so fast that somehow the characters were lost with it. The film ended without me relating with the main character. I felt sorry for her but that’s all. It didn’t grow from that.

Nick Lachey also made a cameo and I thought I was looking at a different person. He looked so bad on film. Hahahaha. And that role was mess.

Anyway, I still managed to make the most out of the movie experience. But I won’t tell you how I did it. Secret!

I heart Ratatouille

I saw the movie Ratatouille last week with a friend. I so like the movie. I sort of encouraged by the movie to learn how to cook because to be honest, I really don’t know how.

I hope that Remy would also visit me sometimes and teach how to cook some of his specialties. I so love the food he is cooking. In fact, after watching the movie, I headed to a nearby restaurant and ate my heart out wihiihihi. I got hungry watching the film.

I give the movie a two thumbs up. Very nice feel good movie really.

I really like Bumblebee

Movies, Action, Drama, Robot, Terrific No Comments »

I was able to watch Transformers last week with friends and it was really great. I really love Bumblebee. He is so cute. And the way he helps Sam win the girl of his dreams. So amazing. I almost cried when Bumblebee lost his feet. Poor little thing. He couldn’t walk.

I also like Optimus Prime because he is such a good leader. He is firm on not hurting the humans even if it means losing Bumblebee. What a heart. He may be made of steel, alloy or whatever, but his heart is softer than most humans.

Geez, that should have touched all the moviegoers.
